At noon, Ravi cannot find his lunchbox. It is not in his locker, and it is not on the bench. On the floor lies one grape and a clean white napkin.

He asks the lunch monitor. She remembers a boy in a green jacket carrying two boxes to the garden. Ravi follows the path and finds his box beside the compost bin.

The boy is there, holding a bag of apple peels. “I thought this was for the garden,” he says. They laugh. Ravi opens the box and shares his grapes with him.

On the way back, they make a sign: LUNCHBOXES STAY INSIDE. The mystery is solved, and lunch tastes better with a new friend.
