Theo found a silver envelope in his backpack on Monday. Inside was a card with stars and a big number seven. 'You are invited to Rosa's party,' it said.

He read it three times. Rosa was his best friend, and she had never had a big party. Theo put the card on the kitchen table so he would not forget.

On Wednesday, the card was gone. His little brother had used the envelope for a paper boat. The card itself had vanished. Theo searched every room, his heart beating fast.
