Ana saw three flower pots by the window. The soil looked dry and pale.

She filled her little watering can with cool water.

She gave each pot a slow drink. The water sank into the soil without a splash.

The last pot got too much water. It ran over the rim and onto the sill.

“Easy does it,” said Grandma. She helped Ana pour the extra water away.

They wiped the sill dry. The flower stood up straight again.

A few days later, Ana saw a small green bud. It opened into a pink flower.

“You helped it drink,” said Grandma. “Now it is strong enough to bloom.”

A bee came to visit. Ana watched from the window and felt proud.
